Now I can say I've been to Sing Sing. And despite all preconceived notions I had, Karaoke is, in a word, Awesome. Especially when you have a private room.
Wedding Dresses
On Saturday Mom, Liz, Mairin, Sarah and I joined Heidi in Manhattan to shop for her wedding dress. The first place was like TJ Max for weddings and while their wasn't time to try any dresses on, we did enjoy the sport of extreme-bride watching.
At the second place we found "the one." After trying on about 10, the wedding consultant told Heidi she could try one more. "I have a good feeling about this one," Heidi said. I zipped her up and pinned the back and knew she had found it. When I peaked my head out of the dressing room door, I told Heidi's entourage, "Wait until you see this."
Standing up on the pedestal, she looked beautiful. Heidi cried, we all clapped, and the store seemed to put all eyes on the bride-to-be in the perfect dress.
We ducked into Starbucks afterward to celebrate over hot chocolate, Chai teas, and lattes. Then we made our way back to Jersey City, said goodbye to Heidi's bridesmaids, and proceeded to take naps before dinner.
The Lonely Cannoli
After waking from our naps, we went back into NYC by car this time. Jim had made reservations at Tratorria Tricolori in the theater district. This would be the first time Jon and my father would meet. The evening went very well. Lots of olive eating, laughing, and story telling.
