So I found out yesterday evening that one of my good friends from school is moving to Kansas City in about three weeks to start a new job at the Federal Reserve. I realized, then, how much I assume people will just stay in my life in the same way they've always been there...how naive.
It's true that Kansas City isn't that far away and I'm sure there are great Southwest flights, but in three weeks he won't just be a 15 minute walk north--that guy friend who listens patiently to all my stories, who sheds light on situations in new ways, who never forgets Valentines day, who always makes me feel special, who even loves Brian Adams love ballads as much as me!
A toast to you, Robin Hood! I'll miss you.
