Christmas in the Country

Twas Christmas in the country, and all through the land
No living souls surround us, to give me a hand.

The people are scattered, one here and one there
The silence is deafening -- the streets are so bare!

No sidewalks, no street lights, no traffic, no crowds
No El trains, no buses, no cell phones allowed!

And momma in her nightgown and papa in his whities
They couldn't quite grasp their city-girl's plighties.
