Scattered Thoughts

As of right now, I'm officially on vacation for the rest of the year. What a good feeling. People at work kept saying to me yesterday, "I bet you can't wait," and "You must be so excited," and though I'm happy work is done, I'm a little overwhelmed by everything that led up to this break and all the moving pieces I still need to line up before I leave for a week and a half.

Highlights:
-1 proposal, done
-2 account optimizations, done
-1 meeting in Detroit (which I led), done
-1 great talk over green tea lemonade, done
-1 holiday get-together (we decorated gingerbread cookies, made homemade hot chocolate, and played pictionary), done

And now I'm off for some Christmas shopping on Michigan Ave in this lovely snowy weather. I can't say where in case my sister is reading =)

Post Script: Lesley and I sat on the couch last night, eating our dinners before the guests arrived. We caught up on each other's week. I said, "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it." She said, "It's beautiful to think about all the bridges in our lives--the ones we will cross when we come to them, the once we don't burn. I picture a land filled with bridges and in between them are little patches of land and as we cross each bridge we build a life."
